Today, for lack of a better topic (I do have another topic in store,I just have to finish this first), I’m comparing another Gamehouse time management game called Sally’s Spa against Sally’s Salon, it’s predecessor.

I was addicted to Sally’s Salon, from that time when my former officemate suggested it to me to try out. Yes, we were all bored at that time, not to mention demotivated, because we were kicked out of our cozy room to give way to training call center agents. Anyway, I was able to play Sally’s Salon shortly because the copy I got was free for only one hour, just like normal games. After that, a few months passed and I eventually forgot about it until only earlier this year when I found a seller in eBay selling cracks of it. I played it for months, until I finished all the levels and.. let’s admit it.. when you’re done playing a game, it goes less and less fun because you’ve already finished it.

And now, a few days back, someone from Plurk plurked about a game called Sally’s Spa. I grew intrigued, and after a few exchanges of plurks, I found that it’s another version of Sally’s Salon, only now, Sally (the game character) is handling a Spa now. She also said that there are more levels and more exciting things to do.

And hence, this writing. I downloaded the game via torrent, and have been playing it for short periods, occasionally taking screenshots so I can document it later (which then resulted to this).

If the above screen shots did not entice you enough, here’s a few points.. errr.. upgrades and additional features incorporated in it that made it a far more interesting game than Sally’s Salon:

** drink served is tea not coffee

** more locations, around the world, more levels

** actions line up is not limited to 5 only, it’s actually unlimited
** cheap device (less than 1000) but upgrades are expensive (Sally’s last upgrade was a whopping 6000)

in Sally’s Salon, the chairs and devices are way more expensive than this. In this installment, the devices are cheaper and the upgrades are expensive. Upgrades because you can upgrade more than once.

** harder choices, not just single clicks. requires quick response and quick thinking.

** couple customers, must be served and moved together. Yes.. couple customers. HAhaha

** much more animated helpers (sauna assistant keeps looking at watch, barrista neats out dress, massage assistant scratches leg and bath assistant sways in position)

** additional income by selling beauty products, has ranks starting from trainee

** much more things to spend on, chairs and devices are upgradeable. one noticeable change is, once updated to a patience-inducing version, there is another level to upgrade to.

** more candles, other than the two before (patience and additional heart). there’s a candle for enducing higher tips (green and dollar) and a candle for slowing things down a bit so that Sally can do more (violet and a chinese character)

** even employees are upgradeable to a version that can give clients a heart boost. costs higher of course

So far, that’s what I’ve noticed, coz that’s still how far I got. I haven’t tried buying an upgrade for any of the already upgraded device, so I’m not sure if there’s another upgrade after that. I’ll update this post once I’ve advanced to another level.
