Been a while.. for a lack of anything better to post, I give you this. Sorry.

Just a few moments ago, I encountered someone in the forums asking how to restrict calls on a W810i, or if there is a 3rd party software out there that will enable it.  Never did I feel the need to restrict calls (no credits anyway) before but now that I’m using my old postpaid number again.. I think I really need it now. So I did a quick search and I found..

Nothing.

There wasn’t any software available. What I did was just browse my phone a bit. Although this phone came with a manual, like a normal IT phone user, I didn’t bother to read it from cover to cover. My browsing led me to this, and so I will document it (much more likelihood of reading it).

This one works for Sony Ericsson phones, since they are all the same in a way.

To restrict outgoing calls, from the Standby screen choose Menu > Settings > Calls > Manage Calls > Restrict Calls > All outgoing calls > Activate.

Note: You can also choose not to restrict all outgoing calls, but only outgoing calls to international numbers or outgoing calls while roaming.

To restrict incoming calls, from the Standby screen choose Menu > Settings > Calls > Manage Calls > Restrict Calls > All incoming calls > Activate.

Note: You can also choose not to restrict all incoming calls, but only incoming calls from international numbers or incoming calls while roaming.

Activating or deactivating requires a four digit passcode. The default is 1234, but you can change that by going  to Menu > Settings > Calls > Manage Calls > Restrict Calls > Change password.

Note: This may also be network dependent. I’m using a Globe Telecomm sim and this guy who was asking me about it uses a Smart sim.
