Yey!
I’m slowly climbing the information ladder when it comes to flashing/modding my Sony Ericsson W850i, also called Sirius. If you can still remember, I posted my own version of a tutorial on installing flash menus. Now, I’ll be sharing the steps on how to change the fonts.
To get an idea on what I’m really on about, you might want to watch this video first:
Ok. That’s only one of the many videos I saw on YouTube that really drove me to finding the means to change the menus. I was able to install flash themes thru XS++ before, but never really tried to delve in further. I pretty much know that these things can be achieved using the same powerful software (XS++), I’m just not sure where.
Warning: What may happen to your phone while following these steps is NOT my responsibility. You’re the one doing them, not me. So if in case you did something wrong and ruined it, point your blaming finger on no one else but yourself. You have been warned.
Okay then.
First of.. If you don’t already know this, you ought to have XS++ installed. You need the same stuff like last time: USB data cable, the phone itself, XS++. Aside from that, you’ll be needing a true type font, in this case, the Sony Sketch Font (the font of the Sony Ericsson logo). You can Google this yourself, as I forgot the exact URL of the site where I got it from. Will post it again in case I remember.
And voila!
The new font is now being used!
Edit: You can use any true type font (those with .ttf as their file extension). I tried using a different one, called Ampersand, so now it looks even better.
[...] The font. Yes. It’s like one of the easiest to change in a Sony Ericsson phone. For a more detailed explanation/steps on how it’s done, here’s a link to my other post about Changing the Fonts on the W850i. [...]
